Throw a fantastically festive Christmas party
Whether you’re planning a small Christmas party for family and friends, or a big festive event for the entire office, it can be hard to think of ideas that will be fun for everyone. So, how can you get everyone in the Christmas spirit without resorting to Santa hats and antler headbands?
Hire Linen to make the venue perfect
Of course this is a must! Over the years, we’ve helped plenty of people dress their Christmas parties with our event linen hire service in London, Essex and right across the UK.
We also picked up some great ideas on what really works for Christmas parties in general and we’ll carry on in this blog, to take you through three of our favourites.
The traditional Christmas dinner
It might seem a bit unoriginal, but don’t underestimate how much people enjoy a good old fashioned Christmas dinner. Turkey, ham and all the trimmings (plus a really great vegetarian option) will go down a storm no matter where it’s served, and you can make it extra special by giving a choice of starter and dessert. A light soup or a winter terrine are always welcome starters, while trifle and Christmas pudding are usually favourites when it comes to afters. Add in plenty of cranberry sauce, some fine wine choices, a glass of fizz for all and you’ll be giving everyone a Christmas dinner they’ll talk about well into the new year. Although you may want to make sprouts an optional extra…
The cheese and wine party
Cheese and wine parties have been becoming increasingly fashionable over the last couple of years and since the two go together at Christmas like Santa and Rudolph, it makes a perfect choice for a smaller, more intimate festive gathering. There are lots of ways to host a cheese and wine party, but if you really want to get your guests chatting, give each guest a selection of wines and cheeses to try. This way they can try different wines with different cheeses and see what combinations work well together. Before you know it, people will be swapping suggestions and breaking the ice.
The carol singing celebration
If you’re putting on a party for a group that loves a good sing-song then a carol singing event could be perfect. Put on a hot buffet, keep the mulled wine or cider flowing and provide lyric sheets to make sure everyone gets the words right. Of course, another option is to allow your guests to relax and hire singers to perform carols for them. People can join in if they like, but there’s no pressure to sing for anyone who may be a bit shy.
