Planning your 2019 autumn wedding
So, you’ve set a date for Autumn 2019, you’ve booked a venue and are perhaps in the process of organising your save the date cards. But then it’s time to sit back and relax until early next year, right?
Wrong!
It might seem early, being a whole 12 months before your big day, but now is actually the perfect time to start planning the finer details of your 2019 autumn wedding. Why? Well, it makes sense when you think about it. Everything that’s in the shops now – styles, colours accessories, etc. – is tailored towards autumn weather and this means everything is appropriate for the time of year you’ll be getting married. If you leave it until January time to start fine tuning, everything will be tailored towards spring weddings.
But what things is it a good idea to start planning right now?
The wedding dress
It’s a big part of the day, but now is a great time to start planning the bridal gown. The styles and fabrics available in store will be seasonally appropriate and just right for an auturm wedding. When you try dresses on, you’ll be able to easily assess whether or not you’re comfortable in them at this time of year, rather than getting a nasty shock discovering you’re too hot or cold on the day itself.
For the same reasons, now is a great time to look at bridesmaid dresses.
The suits
Although suits for the groom and groomsmen don’t really change that much season by season, colours and fabrics do so now is a good time to pick out what he wants. Ultimately, he probably doesn’t want to be sweltering in a heavy woollen grey suit during a warm September and freesing in linen in October!
The menu
Although you’ll probably finalise your menu nearer to the time, it’s an idea to start getting inspiration now. Most menus depend on what’s in season, so get ideas now ahead of time so it’s easier to narrow your selections in the weeks leading up to the big day.
The flowers
Again, you’re likely not to finalise these until closer to the date, but if you start getting ideas now you can find out what blooms are in season and start really thinking about shapes and colours.
The table linen
Your table linen is another big part of your big day as it can really set the look and tone of your venue. Although you may not make your final choices until nearer the time, start looking at wedding linen hire options now so that you know what fabrics and colours will work well in autmn.
